MYRA is looking for Selection Regions/ Representatives for the Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award ~ 2 regions need a representative!

If my area already has a representative, how can I help? 
If your area is represented, contact Connie Stirling for a reading list, read as many titles as you can, then contact your area representative with your favorites by January 15 of each year.

If I am interested in being an area representative, what should I do?
If your area is not represented, we need your help!  Individually or with a reading group, contact Connie Stirling.  You will be added to the selection committee and sent a reading list.  Your group will read all year from the list (it is updated in April, July and October with new titles).  If you wish to add titles to the list, send them to Connie Stirling no later than October 1.  Your representative will attend the selection committee meeting with your group’s list of favorites at the January meeting each year.  It’s a fun and interesting experience to select next year’s titles!

What is my time commitment if I am an area representative?
In addition to reading time, there is one selection committee meeting each year, on a Saturday at the end of January or beginning of February.  We usually meet at the Minnesota History Center from 10 AM to about 2 PM.  If you are unable to attend, you may send your list of favorites to Connie Stirling to be included in the selection process.
