About the Pagel Award

In recognition of Doris Pagel, a Minnesota leader in literacy and one of the founders of the Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award, MYRA offers an award opportunity to acknowledge innovative efforts to promote the MHL Book Award in schools and libraries.

All current MYRA members are eligible to receive this award.

Winners will receive up to $300 in books of his/her choice from one of MYRA's sponsoring vendors.

Submission of ideas:
  • Items for consideration will be original, creative ways to promote the Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award nominees in your school or library.
  • Submissions must be for the titles announced April 25th of the current year.
  • All submissions must be complete with all accompanying materials (i.e. contest questions for current nominees, gameboards, forms, awards, photos of displays, etc.)
  • Complete the award form and mail all materials to the address below
  • Submissions will be reproduced and shared with MYRA membership via the website.
