New Children's Choice Picture Book Awardstar of the north logo
Minnesota Youth Reading Award (MYRA) is excited to announce a new Children's Choice Picture Book Award: The Star of the North Picture Book Award.
Preparation for this award will continue through 2012, with the first list of Star of the North Nominees announced on April 25, 2013.
Each year (starting April 2013) ten picture book nominees will be announced. Children who read or have read to them at least eight of the ten nominees will be eligible to vote. Votes will be collected through MYRA members each March, and the award winner will be announced on April 25 along with the winners of the Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award.
This award will be focused on picture books intended for a Kindergarten through 2nd grade audience. However, Pre-K and older students are also welcome to participate.
